About Weston A Price

Weston Price was an American Dentist and researcher in the 1930's who was seeing an increasing number of patients with crowded, crooked teeth and dental decay. He noted these people also had poor overall health, became sick easily and were susceptible to disease.

Dr Price had heard that isolated primitive people with no dentists had beautiful straight teeth, no dental deformities and a resistance to disease. He set out upon a 10 year research mission to discover what they were eating to enable this.

His Findings

Price traveled the world over in order to study isolated human groups,  including villages in Switzerland, Gaelic communities in the  Outer Hebrides. Eskimos and the Indians of North America, Melanesian and  Polynesian South Sea Islanders, African tribes, Australian Aborigines,  New Zealand Maori and the Indians of South America.

He found that where the isolated people ate traditional foods they had physical excellence, beautiful straight teeth and no tooth decay. These people also had excellent character, no mental illness and were positive people.

Wherever he saw primitive isolated people, he also saw those primitive people who had adopted the modern diet of white flour, sugar, canned food, jams and jellies.

These people suffered the same affliction of those in America; dental decay, dental deformity and susceptible to disease. The only difference was these people had no dentist.

What does this mean?

Quite simply we can greatly alter our own health and our families health by adopting the principles of the traditional peoples. Understanding the principles of traditional diets can help you to prepare food you enjoy that can heal your body.
